How many cameras are needed for a private house?
A typical minimum for a house with a plot is four to six: entrance, front door, general yard view, and rear perimeter. The exact number depends on the plot geometry and blind spots, which are only visible on-site.
How many days will the archive last?
This is a calculation: number of cameras × resolution × codec × disk volume. We calculate it for your scenario. A guideline for a house with six 4 MP cameras is two to four weeks on a 4 TB disk, depending on recording settings.
Are Wi-Fi cameras bad?
Not bad, but different. They depend on signal quality and separate power, so they are suitable for points where cable cannot be laid. For the main perimeter, we recommend PoE — its reliability is fundamentally higher.
Can cameras be viewed remotely?
Yes, we set up remote access. We do this via a secure connection, not by port forwarding to the open internet — cameras with an open port regularly become part of other people's botnets.
Does license plate recognition make sense for a private house?
Mostly no: it costs significantly more and requires the correct angle and lighting. For the private sector, a quality camera at the entrance is usually sufficient. For commercial objects with a barrier, on the contrary, it pays off.
