No. The inverter and battery are self-sufficient: they charge from the grid when power is on. Panels can be added later to the same inverter without rewiring the panel — we leave an input for them.
A 1–2 kW UPS covers a router and lights for a few hours. A hybrid inverter runs an apartment or house, works with a battery for years, accepts panels and can charge by tariff. For outages of 4+ hours we recommend the hybrid.
The inverter goes on a dedicated line with its own breaker and critical circuits move to backup. If the panel or wiring is in poor shape, we say so and propose what to fix. That is our core work as electricians.
